Fire Emblem Fates Birthright Or Conquest
Burn Emblem Fates Wiki Guide
Birthright vs. Conquest vs. Revelation Differences
Fire Keepsake Fates is unlike previous entries in the Fire Emblem Franchise in that the game comes in different forms. Whether purchased physically or digitally, users will have to choice a side - either with their adopted family, the royal family of Nohr (Conquest), or with their birth family, the royal family of Hoshido (Birthright). Whichever base game is chosen, the other path can be purchased as DLC for half the toll. An additional path (Revelation), choosing to ally with neither faction, volition become bachelor every bit DLC, besides one-half the price of the total game (though you technically do not demand to beat the game on either path to play it).
The choice carries more than weight than simple ties to family unit however, equally the 3 paths include their own difficulty, sectional allies, and mechanics.

Differences
Use the following sections below to judge which path is right for you lot.
Difficulty
Birthright | Conquest | Revelation |
Easy to Moderate | Moderate to Hard | Moderate |
Notation that each path's difficulty can be set between Normal, Hard, and Lunatic - and difficulty can be lowered (but not raised) at whatsoever fourth dimension
Choosing the Birthright path will have the player align themselves with Hoshido and Corrin'due south birth family (in a land reminiscent of Japan). Mostly speaking, many of Birthright's chapters have more than simple objectives, like routing the enemy or defeating the enemy leader. In betwixt chapters, yous will be able to scout for challenges and gainsay enemy units for gold and experience - like to fighting the Risen in Burn down Keepsake Awakening. You can as well combat other armies via StreetPass and earn money and exp in a like fashion. This allows the player to "grind" equally long every bit they wish before taking on the adjacent chapter.
Choosing the Conquest path will have the role player align themselves with Nohr and Corrin'south adopted family (in a land more akin to early European empires like that of Rome). Unlike Birthright, Conquest's chapters often include more various objectives, including breaking through well defended enemy lines, or holding an objective confronting overwhelming odds. These objectives will also reward you lot with less money and experience than their Birthright counterparts. Grinding for experience and relationships is severely limited in this version. Conquest does non let for challenge scouting on the map, and even battling armies via StreetPass will not grant money or experience. There is still a way for Nohr players to battle a single AI team that gives experience, withal information technology can only be used once. The only other way to gain more coin and EXP is through employ of DLC maps. The free Before Enkindling map, however, can but be used to "grind" relationship status improvements, which so unlocks paralogues.

Choosing the Revelation path has the histrion forsaking both sides in social club to find and establish a new kingdom to bring the other two in line. Doing so will let yous recruit allies from both kingdoms, however the overall difficulty is harder than Birthright, merely easier than Conquest. This is due to the fact that while sure chapters might have harder weather to see, the full general objectives remain uncomplicated, like the routing of enemy forces. Revelation players will too exist able to do good from unlimited skirmishes between chapters to grind for extra money and experience.

Depending on your choice, the types of units and classes you'll have access to may differ dramatically. Both factions have their own sets of units that fulfill similar roles (fighters, archers, mages, fliers, etc) but y'all'll notice that one side may have the advantage in certain areas over the other.
The nation of Hoshido, with its culture and style heavily influenced by japan includes many fast, lightly armored units that can dish out damage - but very few mounted, armored, or fauna-similar units - excluding the Pegasus and trick units.
The nation of Nohr, with its culture and way reminiscent of the Roman Empire and previous Fire Emblem titles, features many of the classes seen in previous iterations like equus caballus mounted units, heavily armored units, and even wyvern riders. They however lack some of the variety that Hoshido enjoys, as well as the lack of whatever Pegasus flyers.
Choosing the path of Revelation will at first leave you lacking in both departments, simply yous'll eventually first to recruit units on both sides of the war, and enjoy the mixing and matching of both Nohr and Hoshido units.
